My Uncle sent me photos he found and thus begins another journey to discover who they are of. I have reason to believe the Captain photos are of Captain George Thomas Scott, but I need to find out when they were taken in order to determine who it is. There are also other naval type photos. Could be the Merchant Marines which my Great grandfather William was enlisted as a mechanical engineer. I'm trying to track down some descendants of Captain Scott. I've tried to nail down the cap embellishment, but haven't found anything that matches. I don't know if this is Canadian or American, Naval or Ferry... I'm just full of questions right now. The writing on the back of the photos don't help. Is it William, Captain Thomas or Patriarch Thomas, but I doubt that last one. I need an EXPERT to help me figure out the uniforms.
My Uncle was told growing up that his grandfather was the Captain of a ship. That would be Patriarch Thomas Scott of Little Bay East. How could this be? Could it be? We know so little. We've never been told he was a captain. He died in 1912. Wouldn't this photo have to be WW1 or something? I'm clueless.
