Mystery 1
The biggest mystery has been the birth of G-Grandfather William Scott. It seems I have scoured every database, list, and church birth record in Newfoundland. His obituary only says 1883, but I have been working from this document that says September 1882. It's a draft card of a "William John Scott" in Rochester and the wife is "Eliza." Could be a coincidence. There were a ton of Eliza Scotts back then.

In Newfoundland genealogy records, I've found a Willliam John Scott born in 1885 and a William Scott born August 1882.

Unknown People
3 women appearing next to Eliza Buttery Scott in several photos.

Unknown girl with Eliza Buttery Scott. Probably a niece.

Everyone in this Rochester photo circa 1925 has been identified except the girl with the dark hair on the left.

    1. Thank you, cousin Gina! Your mom and I came to the same conclusion this afternoon! We think it was around 1925 when she lived with the Scotts. My grandfather is standing behind her.

    1. Hi! A few years ago when I started my research I was focused on all of the Scott's in that area for a long time until I found my clan in fortune Bay. I remember there was a Facebook page for newfoundland Scotts. Google it and u will probably get answers!

    2. U r probably running into barriers with the common names. I also had an ancestor named Thomas Scott. It's nearly impossible to trace him without a middle name, too.
